Effective date: [July 5, 2026]
Tend does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no logins, no analytics, no ads, and no cloud sync. Everything you record in Tend — your journal entries, photos, habits, health scores, and health conditions or goals — is stored only on your device. We never see it, receive it, or have any access to it.
When you use Tend, the app stores the following information locally on your device:
This information never leaves your device through Tend. We (For Purpose Labs) have no servers that receive it, no databases that hold it, and no ability to view, share, or sell it.
None. Tend does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information, usage data, analytics, or identifiers of any kind.
Tend contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software. We do not share data with third parties, because we do not have any data to share.
If you choose to attach photos to a journal entry, Tend asks for permission to access your photo library. Selected photos are stored locally within the app on your device and are never uploaded or transmitted anywhere.
Tend includes a backup and restore feature. Backup files are created only when you choose to create them, are saved to a location you select, and are controlled entirely by you. We recommend storing backups somewhere safe, as we cannot recover your data — we never have a copy.
Separately, if you have enabled device-level backups on your iPhone (such as iCloud Backup), your device may include Tend's data in those backups. Device backups are managed by Apple according to your device settings and Apple's privacy policy, not by us.
Your data stays on your device for as long as you keep it. You can delete individual entries, habits, or other content within the app at any time, and deleting the Tend app from your device removes all of its data. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our end.
Privacy laws such as the GDPR (Europe) and CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights over personal data that companies collect about you — such as the right to access, correct, or delete it. Because Tend does not collect any personal data, there is no data held by us to request. If you have questions about your rights or our practices, contact us at the address below.
Tend is not directed at children under 13, and because the app collects no data from anyone, it does not collect personal information from children.
We are developing additional features, such as in-depth health insights and integration with activity trackers. If any future feature changes how Tend handles data — for example, reading data from Apple Health with your permission — we will update this policy and the app's privacy details on the App Store before that feature is released. Our commitment stands: your health data belongs to you.
Tend is a wellness journaling tool and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult your healthcare provider about your condition and care.
If we update this policy, we will post the new version at this page and update the effective date above. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
